Illinois Association of Meat Processors Scholarship

2018 IAMP Family Member Scholarship Presented to Rebecca King

The IAMP Board of Directors recognize the continued need to support youth and especially our members’ youth attending college. IAMP has committed to supporting an annual scholarship of $500 for a youth attending any secondary education, in any field of study and is a family member of an active/dues paid IAMP member.

Rebecca King, daughter of James and Amy King of Main Street Meat Co., Roscoe, is this year’s IAMP Scholarship Recipient.

Rebecca graduated from Hononegah Community High School in May 2018.   Rebecca is enrolled at Rock Valley Community College this fall studying Early Education.  Rebecca’s application showed strong involvement in her high school, community and activities with teaching kids through volunteering and working at Kinnikinnick Kids Care.  Rebecca also works a few hours a week at Main Street Meat Company with her family.  She intends to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in the Spring of 2022.

Rebecca was a member of Junior Varsity Dance Team during high school, involved in Grace on Campus Youth Group and a volunteer for their church’s Vacation Bible School.  She’s looking forward to teaching children the skills they need to be successful in the future.

This new scholarship is in additon to the two current IAMP scholarships that are presented annually to Meat Science students at the University of Illinois.

All interested youth should check the website at www.illinoismeatprocessors.com for the 2019 application available January 1, 2019.
